Chapter 1218

Willow Springs, Missouri

2017 Fly-In/Camp-Out

Our Fly In/Camp Out was a success!  The weather cooperated and we had several airplanes fly in as well as some planes from the field who flew.  There were several people who either camped under their wing, or brought tents and campers.  Friday night before the band played, James Ennis gave some of the band members their first airplane ride in his Cessna 172.

More pictures from the event are located in the Gallery Section of this website. http://www.1218.eaachapter.org/apps/photos/

Thanks to all of our donors and helpers who made this a success.

July Fly-In Pancake Breakfast Was A Success!

The July 11th, fly-in pancake breakfast was a success!  We served around one hundred people breakfast and hosted 20 airplanes.

There is nothing like a good fly-in breakfast after two weeks worth of rainy weather to get pilots into their airplanes and flying!

We will be doing it all again for our August 8th meeting.  We hope to see everyone who showed up this morning again next month. We would love to see some new faces and airplanes from the area too!  It is sure to be another fun day at EAA 1218 in beautiful Willow Springs!

Passion Flights for Life

This morning during our EAA Chapter 1218 Fly-in breakfast, Jim Davis of Mountain Home, Arkansas flew into 1h5 to give fellow Cancer survivor Logan Welch his first ride in an airplane.

One year ago today, Logan was in the hospital being treated for Leukemia.  Today, one day short of his 20th birthday, Logan received his Passion flight from fellow Cancer survivor Jim Davis.

Jim's goal is to fly a fellow Cancer survivor in all of the lower 48 states.  This mornings' flight was number 28 for Jim and his plane.

You can follow Jim and his Passion Flights on his blog.
